| I've decided to take the leap many others have, which has mystified me before now...
Because, at this point in my life, it seems right to say I'd like a break with the past...
out with the old, in with the new.

| I love my new place! It's so much better than in the dorms, where you
have to cram everything in one tiny room...here, I have my own bedroom,
and a spacious living room and kitchen. I even like walking the
10 or so blocks from my place to campus. I like walking
now. It really clears your lungs and makes you feel good.
Esp. that invigorating seattle air...jack frost nipping at my ears this
morn til I couldn't feel them.
...come over and visit me, peeps!
Plans this wk: catch up with friends, more shopping . Discipline self enough to wake up at 6:30 every morning...to have quiet time.
Walking across campus today, I couldn't help but wonder how I will see
UW 20 yrs from now. Will I get all nostalgic, idealize it in my
mine as this golden era when I was young (and not too fat), and
innocent? Will I be more realistic, realize there were good times
and bad, but I'm glad to be at the place I am now (with husband and
children, hopefully?)? How will i remember my time at the
UW? Will i see that I made the most of my college career, now
that it's almost over, or will I wonder where all the time went, and
wish I had done things differently?

| My worldly wisdom will always fail me in the end. In the end, I'll just be left wanting MORE than this world has to offer.
Oh God. One request. The grace to trust You more.
| Thanks to Pamela...
I am now officially wireless again!!! I still got the same number...
*WOOT*
if you want to send me your phone number so I grace you with my wireless company, shoot me an email: taniab@u.washington.edu
I just said bye to the customer service lady, who I spent nearly 45 min. on the phone with, combating the evils of mystifying technology. I kinda miss her--I mean, she put me on hold a bunch of times to consult the technology specialists, she went out on a limb for me. Together, we conquered this piece of metal; together, we made it work...an experience like that bonds ppl together.
oh well, time for business--seriously hedonistic business. I plan to read my Bible and read my novel, "The Time Traveler's Wife" (yup it's a romance but not the explicit kind) with my partner in life, Emma Kitty.
hmm...thx for the suggestions, esp. Anna. Getting trashed? Never a bad idea for any night, including your bday . But I do hate that word...can we call it something else? Trashed, faded, messed up, wasted, f**ed up...such misleading words to describe a perfectly aesthetic experience! How about...getting "happy"? or "cuddly"? "getting high" is a nice way to put the feeling of consuming large amounts of alcohol, but that's already taken by marijuana.
btw, last night I had this dream. I was climbing a ladder, and while climbing it I was thinking with distaste about my past crushes. I was thinking, "ick, don't know what I ever saw in that fellow"! (Of course if you're reading this, and I used to like you, you're probably not one of those icky fellows though...probably an exception sigh, libra, ever the diplomat). I think that thought, combined with the climbing, means only one thing: PROGRESS .
Once I got to the top, I was in this mansion, asking in french, where is the bathroom? I ran into a guy named jason who I don't know, and I asked him...then I woke up, and I really, really had to take a piss. So I did.

| Oh, what to do...for my 21st bday?
If I were loaded...I would totally have a semi-formal to formal "ball..." but that wouldn't work too well, cuz I don't know enough guys for the dance partner-ratio to be even...
hmmm...any suggestions?
I know what I don't want to do...applebees, just like my 3rd grade bday!
My activity life for this qtr is set: I'm taking 18 credits, leading a core group, being involved in a core group, and committed to getting to know the great girls in my house!...unless God says otherwise, I'm think I'm going to be an extremely busy girl with just those activities...but then again, NOTHING ever quite goes as planned...that's the fun part impromptu talks which last way into the night...spur-of-the-moment shindigs...once in a while but not too often, doing things because you "feel like it..."
I'm a travel addict...already interested in going to the Holy Land next summer, but I don't think I will because that would just be financially insane after all the money I spent this summer...
I'm a change addict as well...went to the hair salon for maybe the 4th time this yr, maybe more? Changed my hair...gay hairstylists rule! I know it sounds so materialistic...but there is something soo therapeutic about getting a haircut then shopping for 7 hrs, which I did yesterday...I shopped by myself...
Normally I am SO indecisive! My friends know. I usually can't shop by myself because I worry soo much about picking the right thing, and I need constant reassurance and advice about how things look!
And then, a miracle happened. I went shopping yesterday...and it was amazing! I saw something, went with my intuition, snapped it up and laid down the dough and left! I relied on my fashion intuition, which I must say has improved...I got good deals, wasn't too extravagant...I went with my feeling, rather than analyzing too much the details...it was a great feeling, loads of new clothes, all of which I chose, and I don't care a bit for what anyone thinks of it! Everywhere I went, so many things looked good on me...
It's like I suddenly knew what my personal style was. And like my intuition level had gone up enormously. I couldn't believe how confident and sure of my own taste I was.
I was EFFICIENT AND DECISIVE! Yesterday was a victory. I have become a BONA FIDE SHOPPER! I can now shop with CONFIDENCE and ENJOYMENT!
People may think shopping is for frivolous, materialistic people...but isn't all pleasure frivolous? like bubble baths...and reading novels...and long walks on the beach...you don't do these things for their practical reward, though they may have practical use, of course...therefore, I can safely assert that THE ABILITY TO SHOP SKILLFULLY IS A GIFT FROM GOD.
